opencodex is a universal provider proxy: it speaks the OpenAI Responses
and Anthropic Messages APIs on the front, and forwards to whatever
backend is configured behind it, so OpenAI's Codex CLI, Codex App and
SDK, and Anthropic's Claude Code can be pointed at Claude, Gemini,
Grok, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, a local Ollama, or any OpenAI-compatible
endpoint without the client knowing. It runs as a local daemon on
127.0.0.1:10100 and ships a browser UI for picking models and watching
traffic.
This package installs the TypeScript sources and runs them directly on
the Bun runtime from net-libs/bun-bin, with the JavaScript dependency
tree vendored from upstream's bun.lock rather than fetched at build
time. Because that is the layout opencodex classifies as a source
install, its built-in self-updater detects it and declines to write
into /usr: updates come through Portage.
