sys-apps/cuid::stuff
- Ebuilds: 1, Testing: 10.0.0 Description:
CUID (Component Unified Identifier) builds a deterministic 122-bit
identifier for a hardware component out of whatever architectural markers
it exposes: a PCIe Device Serial Number capability, an SMBIOS or ACPI
serial, or a generated fingerprint where none of those exist, combined with
unit and revision IDs. The point is that one device gets the same
identifier from every tool that asks, which makes correlating GPUs, CPUs
and NICs across a fleet tractable without vendor-specific naming. It ships
a library and the amdcuid command-line tool.
