ipmifand is a small C daemon that controls server fans through IPMI from CPU temperature (via ipmitool) and disk temperature (via smartctl). One binary supports several hardware profiles selected in INI configuration: named profiles for Supermicro X10DRC, Supermicro X10DRU-i+, and ASRock Rack X570D4U-2L2T boards that verify the DMI vendor and board name, plus a command-template mode compatible with earlier releases. The named profiles use the local /dev/ipmi0 interface, apply 100 percent duty on start, on any sensor, disk, RPM, or command failure, and before exit, and only follow the configured temperature-to-duty curves after the board passes its readback checks.
